terms & conditions

  • MORNO is a Portuguese design brand creating lighting, furniture and interior objects. Our pieces are developed with attention to material, proportion, craftsmanship and atmosphere.

    For any questions, please contact:

    Email: hello@morno.pt
    Address: Largo 3 de Fevereiro 82, 7 Esq., 4100-475 Porto, Portugal

  • MORNO products are produced using natural materials, artisanal processes and industrial manufacturing techniques. Variations in stone, wood, metal, ceramic, fabric, leather or other natural materials are part of the character of each piece and should not be considered defects.

    Colours, textures and finishes shown on the website, catalogue, renders, photographs or samples may vary slightly due to screen settings, natural material variation or production processes.

  • Quotations issued by MORNO are valid only for the period stated in the quotation.

    Unless otherwise stated, quotations are issued EXW — Ex Works and exclude VAT, taxes, transport, customs duties, insurance, installation, unloading or any other additional costs.

    A quotation does not constitute a binding agreement until the order is confirmed in writing by MORNO and the required payment has been received.

  • Orders must be confirmed in writing by email or other written communication.

    The client is responsible for checking all details before confirming the order, including product reference, dimensions, finishes, quantities, delivery address, billing details and any custom specifications.

    Any changes requested after order confirmation may affect the price, lead time or feasibility of production. MORNO reserves the right to refuse changes after production has started.

  • Prices are stated in euros unless otherwise indicated.

    Prices are exclusive of VAT, transport, customs duties, import charges, insurance, installation and other additional costs, unless expressly stated otherwise.

    MORNO reserves the right to update prices due to changes in raw materials, components, production costs, exchange rates, transport costs or circumstances beyond our control. Confirmed orders will not be changed unless agreed with the client or required due to force majeure.

  • For standard made-to-order pieces, payment is usually made as follows:

    50% deposit to confirm the order and start production.
    50% balance before dispatch, collection or delivery.

    For stock pieces, full payment may be required at the time of purchase.

    Custom pieces, special finishes, large projects or bespoke orders may require different payment conditions, which will be stated in the quotation.

    Orders are only confirmed after receipt of the required payment.

  • Lead times are estimates and may vary depending on production capacity, supplier availability, material availability, transport, holidays or other circumstances beyond MORNO’s control.

    MORNO will make reasonable efforts to respect the estimated lead time and will inform the client of relevant delays whenever possible.

    Delays do not automatically entitle the client to cancel the order, refuse delivery or claim compensation, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

  • Unless otherwise agreed, MORNO prices are EXW — Ex Works. This means that the product is made available for collection at the agreed location, and transport is the responsibility of the client.

    Upon request, MORNO may assist with transport quotations or coordinate delivery through third-party carriers. In such cases, transport costs will be quoted separately.

    The client is responsible for ensuring that the delivery address is accessible and that there is adequate assistance for unloading, handling and placement of the goods.

  • Products should be inspected immediately upon delivery or collection.

    Any visible damage to packaging or product should be reported in writing as soon as possible, preferably with photographs of the packaging and product.

    If transport is arranged by MORNO, we will assist in managing the claim with the carrier. If transport is arranged directly by the client, any claim must be handled between the client and the carrier.

  • If the client is unable to collect or receive the goods after completion, MORNO may store the products for a limited period, subject to availability.

    After this period, storage fees may apply. MORNO is not responsible for delays caused by the client’s inability to collect or receive the goods.

  • For standard stock products, returns may be accepted within 30 days from delivery, provided that the product is unused, undamaged and returned in its original packaging.

    Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the client, unless the product is defective or the return is required by applicable law.

    Made-to-order products, bespoke pieces, custom dimensions, special finishes, COM/COL products and personalised orders cannot usually be cancelled or returned after confirmation, unless defective or otherwise required by law.

  • Custom orders may include changes to dimensions, materials, finishes, upholstery, COM/COL materials, colours or other specifications.

    The client is responsible for approving all custom specifications before production. Once confirmed, custom orders are produced specifically for the client and cannot usually be cancelled or returned.

    MORNO may request additional time, technical validation or price adjustments for bespoke requests.

  • When the client supplies their own fabric, leather or other material, the client is responsible for ensuring that the material is suitable for the intended use.

    MORNO is not responsible for defects, delays, performance issues or additional costs caused by unsuitable, delayed or defective client-supplied materials.

    Additional material may be requested to allow for production, pattern matching, testing or waste.

  • MORNO products are covered by the applicable legal warranty under Portuguese law.

    For consumer purchases in Portugal, movable goods are generally covered by a 3-year legal guarantee.

    For professional, trade or business clients, warranty conditions may differ and will follow the applicable legal framework or the specific conditions agreed in writing.

    The warranty covers manufacturing defects and defects in materials or workmanship. It does not cover:

    • normal wear and tear;

    • misuse or improper handling;

    • incorrect installation;

    • lack of maintenance;

    • accidental damage;

    • exposure to unsuitable humidity, heat, sunlight or outdoor conditions unless the product is expressly designed for outdoor use;

    • changes or repairs made by third parties without MORNO’s written approval;

    • natural variations in wood, stone, leather, fabric, ceramic or other materials.

  • The client is responsible for following appropriate care and maintenance instructions for each product and material.

    Natural materials require careful use and maintenance. Failure to follow appropriate care instructions may affect the product’s appearance, performance and warranty coverage.

  • Ownership of the products remains with MORNO until full payment has been received.

    Until full payment is received, the client may not sell, transfer, modify or dispose of the products without MORNO’s written consent.

  • All MORNO designs, images, drawings, renders, photographs, texts, catalogues, technical documents, product names and brand elements remain the intellectual property of MORNO, unless otherwise stated.

    No content may be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed or used commercially without prior written permission from MORNO.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, MORNO shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity or project delays.

    MORNO’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the product or service giving rise to the claim, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

  • MORNO shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including supplier delays, transport disruption, strikes, natural events, war, pandemic, fire, technical failure, material shortages or changes in legal requirements.

  • For any complaint, please contact us first at:

    If applicable, consumers may also use the official Portuguese complaints mechanisms. • These Terms & Conditions are governed by Portuguese law.

    Any dispute arising from these Terms & Conditions shall be submitted to the competent Portuguese courts, unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection law.

  • If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain valid.

    MORNO may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to each order is the version in force at the time the order is confirmed.
